In a move that many are seeing as Christmas come early for Redskins fans; Vinny Cerrato has RESIGNED as Vice President of Football Operations!

I heard it first on 97.5 ESPN Radio up here in Philly. Its a move that has been long yearned by Redskins faithful around the country. A few questions arise in the wake of the announcement – Will Dan Snyder hire an actual football GM? Who will it be? Why did this happen now and not at the end of the season? Does that mean that there is already a person in place? Or that they don’t believe that The Guy will be available come the end of the season?

I don’t know the answers to any of those questions, but damned if I haven’t felt this kind of mixture of relief and anticipation for a long time. If nothing else this news will make the tailgate chatter this Monday night a lot more interesting.
